An outage occurred in an MPLS VPN networking running OSPF. A PE router lost the LDP session to both P routers, however the OSPF sessions were not affected. During this outage, traffic was blackholed for an extended period of time through the PE router in order to address this type of failure, the operation team created a requirement that the PE routers automatically shuts down the the VPN 4 IBGP sessions towards the route reflectors when the PE loses its LPD sessions with both P routers. The operation team has the requirement of logging the LDP status.
